Four years ago, hubbie and I got married on the outside terrace at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. He swept me away after work today and drove us down there for some photo ops — and then squeezed into a dinner reservation at The Summit. It was divine, and after walking around the lake and sharing another drink near the terrace, watching the sunset we departed back to Denver.

Happy anniversary honey and thanks for a great night.

With the Sangre de Christo Mountains in the east and the San Juan Mountains to the west., this 16-mile stretch of highway ends at the northern endpoint of the Sand Dunes.

This weekend I was exploring at the Sand Dunes National Park – while great weather is well, great, the very high and bright sun makes it hard to create depth in nature sometimes. That was a concern on Saturday but at the moment of this photo, I caught a few passing clouds over the sand.
