Bathroom Grafitti

An unusual place to snap some photos, yes, however I loved the dirty, urban graffiti on the walls… especially with the spot-on, bright flash. Weird? Maybe…

ABOVE: Chuck Close, Self-Portrait, at the Denver Art Museum. (C) the artist

Today I was fortunate enough to attend one of the lecture series given by the non-profit organization here in Denver, Working With Artists. The event was held at the Denver Art Museum and the subject was the museum’s current exhibition, “Exposure: Photos from the Vault” (another informative link about the exhibition). We spend an hour listening to and asking questions to Eric Paddock, the DAM’s photography curator. The Birkenstock-suit-wearing curator talked about collecting, preserving and archiving procedures of the museum’s collection and so much more. While attending, I was able to view photos from the likes of Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Gary Winogrand, Chuck Close, David Levinthal and so many more… if you are in town and have time, stop by.

Moab Branch

When we visited Moab, I saw this branch on the side of the trail… and as soon as I saw it, a flash in my mind saw what it eventually could be. So, I picked it up and carried it the rest of the way and have finally completed what my original vision saw! Hope you enjoy the select Moab photographs from Cocktail Hour I chose to hang, it was quick but fun to put together.
